Earlier this year PCP-Gaming and Blue Panet Media partnered up to develop www.surfing-odds.com, a professional surfing gaming promotions website. Part of Surfing-Odds charter is the Donate a Board Program, designed to collect boards for LDC Boardriders Clubs around the world.
Pango Boardriders were the logical club to start with and Cameron McLeod from PCP-Gaming and Nick Howlett, from Blue Planet Media, delivered the first boards to the Pango Boardriders on the 27th of September.
On hand to receive the boards on behalf of Pango Boardriders was Kathleen Kaluatman, a lady who works in conjunction with the board riders lending out and repairing donated surfboards to aspiring Pango “grommets”. Aunty Kathleen is know in the area as the first stop for pikinini’s who want to learn to surf, as well as a place for tourists to hire surf boards.
Kalfau Kalotrip, the president of the Pango Boardriders was also at the presentation. Kalfau said “ these boards present further opportunity for young people in the area to start surfing. Boards are hard to find in Vanuatu and these boards will give the next generation of young people in the village a chance to experience surfing.”
